child protectionMarist Mission Ranong
When MMR arrived in Ranong, they realised that there were many migrant children who were not enrolled in any educational facility at all. These children, who were often very young, were either working in menial jobs such as garbage collection, or were simply at home or on the streets while their parents were at work, sometimes caring for other younger siblings.

Just what is this spirit? 'To live as Mary, feel as Mary and think as Mary'. Was a prescription repeated by Colin.

Marist Laity
Marists are called to step out of their comfort zone.
Yesterday I had a year 9 religion class. We spoke about Mary. Mary not in the sense of "Mary Queen of Heaven", but "Mary here on earth". Some of the students were blown away to think when Mary at the age of 13 years old became pregnant with Jesus, she could have been stoned to death. God had given her a great gift, yet in the eyes of many others she has broken the law and sinned.

Sending the Holy SpiritPentecost - Living by the Spirit
'Without the Holy Spirit,' wrote Ignatius of Laodicea, 'God is distant, Christ is merely an historical figure, the Gospel is a dead letter, the Church is just an organisation, authority is domination, mission is propaganda, liturgy is only nostalgia, and the work of Christians is slave labour. But with the Holy Spirit, Christ is risen and present, the Gospel is a living force, the Church is a communion in the life of the Trinity, authority is a service that sets people free, mission is Pentecost, the liturgy is memory and anticipation, and the labour of Christians is divinised.'
