| Moving beyond blaming church I am often in conversations with friends, family and colleagues which start with "If only the church did...." or "If only the church was like...". Mini-Series on the EucharistMost people might find it hard to understand random pieces of Scripture out of context, and they might be hard put to it to find an overall theme that would help them in their Christian lives now. I am going to suggest one here. It is the theme of violence and gentleness, the theme of the transformation of violence into gentleness over the course of a lifetime and longer.
Lay Marists of Ireland: A Snap-Shot ViewIn 2000 a Marist Gathering, in Longford, was organised. Longford was chosen because of its central location in the country and is easily accessible for most. The primary purpose was to bring us all together and to have fun. It was a great success and left many calling for repeat gatherings.

There are days when I feel that all is going well, and there are others when I do not know what I want, or even the mirrors are not reflecting my true image and I have my heart full of fears.
