Part 2

   - Faces of Love

There are all these tensions going on. One of the tensions was between a “false I” and a “True I”. Another tensions was between a “false God” and a “true God”. Nietzsche may not have believed in God, but he had an image of God. Nietzsche says “the only God I knew was impossible a tyrant and a power”. Teresa of Avila comes back and says “the only God I know is the God that Jesus reveals”.

There is a “false sense of social living” and a “true sense of social living”.

Lastly there was a “false sense of power” and a “true sense of power”.

There are tensions going on.

Teresa of Avila says “there is a true I which is committed to love. Committed to the love of the other”. The false “I” is the I which is self serving. The true “I” is the I committed in Jesus. The “false God” says it is better for 1 person to be destroyed than the whole nation. The false God sacrifices others on the alters of our disesteem which feels self rejection and self hatred.

There is a false sense of being social. The sociality at its surface which really does not seek to lift up people. Just the pleasant sociality which makes the cogs move. Basically we see others in need and we do not respond. We are okay and we are fine in life.

A false sense of power and a true sense of power. The false sense of power being “I am powerful”. We take the direction of where my life will go and where other people’s lives will go. The true sense of power is an enabling sense of power. How can I help you find your true protentional in life as God created your potential to be. To be intelligent. To be responsible. To be a loving person.
