In our society we like to compete. Here spirituality and religion are not in competition with each other. For centuries the meaning of spirituality and religion was one and the same thing. If you talked about your religion, you were talking about your spirituality. This meaning has shifted. Many people in western societies have abandoned the meanings and importance of religion. Going to mass each Sunday, praying the rosary each day or listening to the bishop or pope has become of low value or is meaningless.

Pruning retreatYoung Marists Pruning Retreat 5-9 July
The Marist Dozen arrived at Mittagong on a chilly winters day on Monday 5th July to take part in the annual Young Marists Pruning retreat. Facilitated by Fr Brian Mascord & Br Tony Leon, the group was cheerfully trained by the Hermitage vineyard manager Martin Elferink and Garth in the finer art of vine pruning.
