| Comment: Fr Michael Whelan spoke about a number of topics impacting Marist spirituality. The first was the fallacy that people can divorce spirituality from religion. Both spirituality and religion work together. If you remove one, you ignore the healthy rhythm of the human spirit. We need both – a personal spirit and an religious institution which attempts to unify the truths and goodness of God and other Christians. Michael also spoke about the importance of conversation. Conversation is the heart of both religion and spirituality. Conversation underpins the relationships with God, with our self, those around us and strangers. Without an open conversation the healthiness of religion and ones spirituality is affected. | ||
