Marylands and Plumpton

Adolescent Jesus Merrylands
In April 2005 a group from within the Cardinal Gilroy Village at Merrylands came together to commence our journey related to the programme Doing the Work of Mary An Invitation to the Marist Way

We generally have about six people present.

We have now held four sessions of prayer and discussion. We have enjoyed the content and particularly the manner by which each session is begun with Scripture, Church Documents and Marist Documents.

At each meeting we pause to allow whoever wishes to contribute to the discussion an opportunity to do so. The passages from A Certain Way and Like a Bridge have been appreciated.

We come from diverse backgrounds and feel it is a very fruitful exercise. You return home with reading to do and your papers to ponder and review, perhaps a number of times.

Thank you to the Marist Laity group

Plumpton
Also in April this year a group was started in the Plumpton parish following an adaptation of the program used in Merrylands. We focus on opportunities for prayer, reflection and discussion, related to various Marist themes.

With small and humble beginnings, we hope to share something of the Marist spirit with one another and, in turn, with our families, places of work and communities.

Anyone who would like to join our group is very welcome. We meet for an hour in the afternoon on the fourth Saturday of the month. Please contact Cathy Larkin on 0438 691 941.
