Saint Marcellin Champagnat's Mass

All branches of the Marist family gathered from far and wide to fill St Mary's Church North Sydney on Pentecost Sunday, 4 June 2006, to celebrate with the Marist Brothers, the Feastday of their founder, St Marcellin Champagnat.

Fr Paul Cooney sm, celebrated Mass and gave an inspiring Homily on the charism and spirit of the Marist Family. He spoke of how Champagnat led by the Holy Spirit and Our Lady had established his Brothers to educate youth and became the largest branch of the Marist Family - a legacy that continues today.

Following Mass we gathered in the school grounds for a delicious afternoon tea served by the Marist Brothers Lay Partnership under the Leadership of Julie Sligo. Old acquaintances met and shared Marist happenings.
