A sight to behold

Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris On Sunday 24th June 2006 while walking the streets and sightseeing in Paris, my friend and I were drawn to the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris by the most beautiful music and singing one could ever hear. To our surprise the church was full and outdoors there was a large video screen, speakers and seating for hundreds of people. We found that the reason for this was the ORDINATION OF EIGHT PRIESTS.

What a spectacular experience as the service was so warming and emotional. I am sure every person at the service took Holy Communion - another amazing sight! When the service was finished the procession departed from the cathedral. I have never seen a procession so large and stunning. There were altar servers, a very large choir, Bishops, Cardinals, Priests and most important of all the 8 young French men, who had just been ordained, witnessed by hundreds of people. To our amazement the Bishops stopped and chatted to the people and especially to the young children.

This was an unexpected highlight to a holiday I will never forget.
