Gilroy Village Report
We hold our meetings at 2pm in the Village chapel on the 3rd Friday of the month and we usually have seven or eight people present.
This year, we have been using the small booklets titled: “Marist Laity – The Work of Mary.” Some of the booklet themes were: The Person of Mary; Mary, the Perfect Disciple; Mary’s Mission is our Mission.
In May, Br Des Murphy fms came and showed us the DVD he made about his pilgrimage to Wallis-Futuna, islands where the Marists first came to Oceania. His joy and enthusiasm were obvious in the filming and in what he had to say to us. It was a most enjoyable afternoon.
In July, Sr Marie-Berise Nash sm, a great champion of Marist Laity, came and spoke to us about Mary as an older person. This was a new and thought-provoking way to think about Mary and we enjoyed this too.
