Bringing the Conference to Birth

“Do whatever he tells you”
Throughout 2007, our National Committee has been doing a lot! With the help and support of some wonderful people, we aim to bring this first Australian Lay Marist Conference to birth.

Our Sponsors
Thanks must go to our corporate sponsors who have generously donated much-needed funds. W.N Bull Funeral Directors are our latest sponsors. Our sponsors’ logos and descriptions are proudly displayed in this newsletter. I would also like to thank Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary School, Mt Pritchard, for their donation of conference bags.

Registrations
Many people have registered for the conference. For those who have missed the 1st December date, don’t despair!. Places are still available. I strongly suggest that if you wish to take advantage of the live-in accommodation, it would be wise to get in soon.

Raffle tickets
THANK YOU to those who have returned tickets and monies. This flow of income has been a great help for us in covering the many costs we are currently facing. If you haven’t yet returned your tickets and money, please make this a priority.

Conference Song
Fr Kevin Bates’ inspiring song “Do whatever he tells you” is now on sale (see advertisement) Kevin’s joyous lyrics and melody will help us truly celebrate being Marist!

www.maristlaityaustralia.com
Our web site is a great source of information about the conference. You can download and print the brochure and registration form, or register and pay online. Find out how YOU can promote the conference.

The Pilgrimage
The final day of the conference will be a pilgrimage to key Marist sites in Sydney.Fr Patrick Kervin sm has been working on the pilgrimage booklet and each of the religious branches have contributed something of their unique Marist history in the region. As soon as we know the cost of the bus trip, we’ll let you know.

What you can buy
We are planning to have many items and resources for sale, or available (donation) at the conference!

Your Story – Our Story
On the Friday evening of the conference, we will be listening to each other’s stories of being Marist in our part of the world. Please begin thinking and preparing for this time of valuable sharing! You may wish to bring resources, photos, a video or power-point presentation. Marist Laity is “a branch with many branches”. Let’s share our dreams!
