St. Pat's Report
On Friday, 16 November, the St Pat’s lay Marist group held their final meeting for the year.
Jina Mulligan, who leads the group, has taken a creative, contemplative approach.
Each month, she presented the group with an icon by Michael Galovic or some other poignant artwork, with words from scripture and Marist documents. She also drew on the simple yet profound words and artistry of Michael Leunig. Each month also picked up on a significant Marian feast or event for us to ponder in the light of our own lives as Marists.
Jina’s way is the journey inward to discover our own sacred depths and there, to find God in the silence. It is the way of deep listening.
Wasn’t this Mary’s way? Isn’t this where we, as Marists, must begin? From there, we can move out into our world as genuine Marian people, full of hope and joy, mercy and compassion.
Marist Laity Australia sincerely thanks Jina and Terry Mulligan for their generous donation of the icon “Mother of God Interceding”. It will be the 1st Prize in the Conference raffle to be drawn on 19 April, 2008.
