Michael Galovic — Artist The beautiful icon opposite is the
work of Michael Galovic renowned
Australian Iconographer. Some of
you may have attended the workshop
about his beautiful art at the
Marist International Conference
in April. Michael has generously
given us permission to display this
image of the Virgin of the Sign
with hands raised in prayer as a
focus for our year of prayer. The
Child she bears is the Hope of the
World. The origins of it are linked
to prophetic texts, notably the one
from Isaiah:
“Behold a Virgin shall conceive
and bear a son, and this shall be a
sign unto you….”
