Meet the Marist Laity Committee Members

 

MariaMaria Baden —President
Mother, grandmother and  recently moved from city life  in Sydney to farm life on the  South Coast. Maria has been  an ardent Marist since her  school years with the Marist  Sisters. Maria is the energetic  mover and shaker of  Marist Laity Australia.

 

 

Val Norris —Secretary  Val Norris
Mother, grandmother and  she is so keen to promote  Marist Laity that she travels  two hours from the Central  Coast to participate in  meetings and other Marist  events. She has had a long  connection with the Marist  Sisters and is a keen singer.

 

 

Marg WalkerMarg Walker —Treasurer  
Mother, grandmother and  a qualified accountant  makes sure that we are  viable and responsible with  money matters. Marg  works with the Marist  Sisters and is a keen  singer with the Cathedral  Choir in Sydney.

 

 

 

Fr Patrick KervinFr Patrick Kervin sm —  Chaplain
Fr Pat is on the staff at  St Patrick’s Church Hill  and supports Marist  Laity by celebrating  Liturgies, presentations  to local groups, as well  as on reflection days.

Sr Vivienne is the Marist Sisters  liaison person on the Committee.  The author of Patterns she  contributes a wealth of skills  and creativity.

Our Marist Brothers’  liaison person brings a  wealth of Champagnat  spirituality and his experience  of working with their  Lay Partnership.

Sr Lindsay is the Marist  Missionary Sisters liaison  person. As a Marist historian  and Icon enthusiast  Lindsay brings her own  unique missionary spirit.  

 

 

 

Beryl PrescottBeryl Prescott
Mother, grandmother  and President -  Treasurer of St Brigid’s  Lay volunteers, comes  with her practical,  hands on experience. If  there is a job to be done  Beryl will do it!  

 

 

 

Barbara AshwellBarbara Ashwell —
Resources  Past smsm and now Pastoral  Carer, at St Vincent’s Private  Hospital, is responsible for  providing Marist Resources  and editing this Newsletter.

 

 

 

Cathy LarkinCathy Larkin -  Liturgy & Prayer
Wife of Chris and  Mother of two  daughters,  Cathy has a long  history being  Marist. Now  vice-principal in  a Jesuit College she still  finds time to arrange reflection  days, liturgical celebrations  and prayer whenever  needed.

 

 

 

Andrew DumasAndrew Dumas —  Webmaster
Husband of Bo and father  of Michelle, High school  teacher  and talented webmaster.  Andrew set up our website  a few years ago and continues  to update and challenge  us to live our Marist  calling in today’s world.
