Life is like a measuring cup. We have 250 mls of liquid. 250mls
of time. 250mls of energy. 250 mls of choices. In a sense we are
finite beings. We have a beginning and an ending. We have a
capacity.
The importance of being Laity
Laity, or the people who are not clergy or priests of the Church
have a gift. Their gift is to move beyond the boundaries of the
church and spread the gospel in the lives of people who are not
church.
Time to be alone with self and God
For countless generations for both Christian
and Jewish traditions we have shared
a practise of Sabbath or Shabbat. It makes
good sense not just for a spiritual need to
stop, but for our own physical health. To be
burning out, to be addicted to work, to be
worried about what is coming next.
