New Marist Laity Group in Hunters Hill

Hunters Hill 3  Parishioners in Villa Maria,  Hunters Hill, have spent a  large part of this year discerning  a way forward in creating  a Marist Laity Group within  the parish. This conversation  has led to the formation not  just of one but two groups.  One for younger parish members  and one is for those a  little older.

A band of interested people  gathered on June 13 in the  parish hall, to discover or to  rediscover, what it means to  be Marist. A morning of  prayer, input and discussion  laws ed by Sr Vivienne Goldstein  SM. Vivienne took us through the  origin and history of the Marist  project, exploring Jean-Claude  Colin’s vision for a profoundly  new way of being in the church  and in the world. We were introduced  to the founders of the four  religious branches and became  familiar with their world and its  needs. Not surprisingly, we  discovered many resonances  between their world and ours.  The Marist story and vision......to  think, feel, judge and pray as  Mary did, still has bearing today.
