The Hermitage Mittagong

About
Established in 1906 by the Marist Brothers for the training of novices. In 1985, the top site, formally known as Marist Farmhouse, was openned up for a young adult community, young adult spirituality and retreats. The bottom buildings, formally known as Marist Centre, was openned up to church and school retreat groups.

In 2006 both sites were merged to form The Hermitage.

The Hermitage is often seen by the Marist Brothers, as the cradle of the Marist Brothers Sydney province. Nearly all brothers today have lived at some point at Mittagong.

Today, there is a community of Marist Brothers, a winery, retreat facilities, and farm on the large property. Mittagong is a very spiritual location for many Marists. There is something about going to this place which feels Marist. A sense of welcome and peace.

How do I get there?
