Something For Our Lives

mary pictured with australiansStudents might like to research the ways in which devotion to Mary has been expressed in Australia. This could be done by speaking to parents, grandparents, priests, religious and older friends. They could try to find out:

  • the images, pictures or statues that appealed,

  • qualities of Mary that they admired,

  • the role Mary played in their lives,

  • devotion to Mary that they practised, for example litanies, novenas and the wearing of the scapular,

  • examples of how they personally experienced Mary's help and protection.
