Our Catholic Church in Australia has reached a critical juncture. Scandals and stagnation leave it in crisis. Inspired by Pope Francis and the commitment of many Catholics, both lay and religious, the Plenary Council offers an opportunity for creating a better future.
Sister Joan Chittister is a beacon for us all, consistently calling for integrity in addressing our shortcomings as a Church while promoting ways of building on both traditional strengths and emerging opportunities.
Sister Joan will be the keynote speaker at the first of three Convocations of Catholics, by zoom across Australia and beyond, being convened by ACCCR supporting the Plenary Council of the Australian Church.
Her topic ‘A vision for Catholicism in Australia: Renewal directions, priorities, hopes and aspirations’, will speak to the deep desires among Australian Catholics for a fresh vision and new directions. Momentum is building but it needs encouragement and support.
Your help is crucial as we reach out to all Catholics, especially those who are just hanging on, are on the edge, or have already detached themselves, to reshape our Church as a life-enhancing community of the followers of Jesus.Free Registration. Sunday May 2 at 9.00 am.
