Recently I have been preparing the vegetable garden for thespring planting, great plans are a foot! Removing the weeds, spreading compost and fertiliser, digging over the ground inexcited anticipation of the abundance of produce that will beharvested throughout the summer and beyond.
A Marist school is similar to a garden. We prepare the soil, weplant seeds, and we water and nourish seeds planted by others.Recognising all the while, that it is God who gives the increase.
“The core of Marcellin Champagnat’s vision of mission was ‘tomake Jesus Christ known and loved.’ Marcellin saw education asthe way to lead young people to the experience of personal faithand of their vocation as ‘good Christians and virtuous citizens’â€.
As Marist educators, we assume this same mission, “by helpingyoung people, whatever their faith tradition and wherever they arein their spiritual search, to grow to become people of hope andpersonal integrity, with a deep sense of social responsibility totransform the world around them. This work of promoting humangrowth is integral part the process of evangelisation. In promotingGospel values, all Marist educators contribute to the mission ofevery Marist project to build God’s Reign on earth.â€

We Pray for Marist Educators:
Loving God, we come before you accompanied by the Virgin Mary and sharing the Marist vision entrusted to us.
We know what we are about.... planting seeds, that one day will grow.
We water seeds already planted in the hearts of the people of our communities.
We know we cannot do everything and we sense being liberated in accepting that.
We hear your call, Loving God to do something and to do it as well as we can.
We are workers, not master builders, ministers not messiahs.
We are prophets for a future not our own, not seeing the end results.
We ask Saint Marcellin Champagnat and other Marist Founders John Claude Colin, Jean-Marie Chavoin and Françoise Perroton, Inspire us to have hearts that know no bounds.
We lift our hearts to you I prayer with Jesus and our Good Mother Mary, in solidarity with all those in need at this time.
